  4. Hi Everyone, Shane here. Brand new to this. I was at DCC last weekend with 2 other new members Mark Parsons and Keith Connolly and decided to sign up. Been chatting to TrooperShane on insta who's been very helpful. I have a Shepperton Design Studios Stormtrooper armour that I bought last year and I'm looking for any excuse to wear it. I would love to get involved and chat to other more experienced troopers for advice on helpful mods to upgrade the armour. Whether it's upgrading the aesthetics or comfort of the suit or even more technical things like the voice changer. Any useful hacks really. Any help appreciated. Thanks guys. Shane

  6. Hi all. I've just joined up. Have seen you guys around for couple of years now and after seeing the show in DublinComicCon I just had to take the dive. Was there with my good Pal Keith Connolly who has also just joined this week. After some back and forth I think I've decided on a Tusken Raider costume to start off.

  7. Hi All, I am a new proud parent of an RS PropMasters ESB StormTrooper suit I had commissioned. I have dreamt of joining the 501st back when I first saw some of the crew outside of Hanley's Toy Store in Dundrum awhile back. I am completely smitten with the suit and hope to join you all for some of the trooping events coming up. I look forward to getting to know all you fine people. A little about me, I'm 44 and have a wife and two boys. I love Star Wars, Gundams, Lego, and Video Games. I am a Senior Site Reliability Engineer and have worked in software for a good amount of time. I love to cook and like many learned to bake sourdough during lockdown. I hope I can meet you all and I hope to bring some treats to the first trooping event I can attend. Let me know if you have any questions and I look forward to meeting you all! -Todd

  8. Hi there! I'm Erika, Aidan's girlfriend. There's a chance we've already met at the event in Tallaght a couple of weeks ago. Either way, I'm so looking forward to this Sunday Comic Con event and seeing all of you!

  9. Hello there My name is Cian and I'm hoping to join the 501st as Boba Fett and Kylo Ren someday. I mostly do Superhero cosplays but I have always wanted to do a star wars Cosplay and join a Cosplay group. I go to as many cons in Ireland as I can. I've been tinkering away at a book of Boba fett Cosplay at the moment and I'm hoping to have it done by the end of the year. Hopefully someday I can join you guys as the Daimyo or Tatooine. May the force be with you

  10. Hi everyone! My wife (ID-61950) and I have been wanting to visit your wonderful country for years, and we're finally making plans to do so either this coming September, or next April. After years of waiting, now that it's actually going to happen we're finding it hard to wait for our trip! We don't have exact dates or itinerary yet, but we do know that no matter where we go or what we do, we'll be starting and ending our visit in Dublin. We'd love to meet up with anyone available while we're there. And I'm sure that as our trip gets closer, I'll be asking lots of questions. For now, just a quick one: Which of our target months has the best weather -- September or April? Thanks! A.J. Hamler TK-51351

  11. My wife and I had a fantastic visit to Ireland! Thanks to Ken and Shane for dropping by our hotel in Trim for some Star Wars chat and swag trading. We especially enjoyed stopping by the Smyth's Toy Store troop on Saturday to see Shane again, and to meet Andrea and Sean! A.J.

  14. Hello all, Name: Michael Location: Ballyea, County Clare Hope you are all keeping well. I just joined the 501st, Rebel Legion & Reel Icons Ireland forums last weekend. Have been a long time Star Wars since the early days - have been reading up on the options to progress and hopefully get clearance. I really love the idea of 'bad guys doing good' and having loads of fun along the way. I was thinking of buying a SANDTROOPER PRO BUILT SUIT from RS Prop Master (not sure if there are other reputable alternatives) and side arm from breaking the mold Dublin. All new to me - so would really appreciate any thoughts/recommendations. Look forward to meeting you all and contributing in any way I can.

  16. Hi guys! Billy here from Waterford. I've always been a huge lifelong SW fan, I enjoy collecting replica lightsabers, figures etc. I'm really the only one in my friend group who has a passion for SW so I am hoping to meet some cool people here and make some friends who share the same interests as myself! I'd love to be able to eventually put together a cosplay and attend one of the events that you guys do. Anyways, glad to have found this space and look forward to meeting you all!

  17. Hi all, its been a while. I last trooped Sep 9th 2017 and found myself in hospital a week later. Im still battling illness but have gotten to a point where Im keen to be a part of the community again and would love to eventually be able to troop again. Have managed to amass a sizable SW figure collection in the last while and about to make some models and try my hand at customisations. Still have an inoperable "collapsed spine" so I also need to source a new costume (2 and a bit inches shorter means my TK doesnt fit ). Hopefully catch you all soon. Alan TK16076

  20. Thanks Daniel, will see if I can figure that out I see my photos didn’t load, doh! I have tickets already for 11am entry, going to park near hotel and walk over so just need somewhere to change, had to change in the car park into my Vader in Belfast Con, that was an experience. if you do make it, look out for us, either way, I’ll be with a Jedi. There’s a bunch of my Mando buddies coming down.

  21. Hey y'all , My name is Dan , ( Daniel if I'm in trouble with My Mother ) and I'm in Texas. I know I seen a few of y'all at Celebration 2022 in Anaheim California but honestly my memory is so bad it's not even funny. It was a Daughter / Father trip and was our FIRST Celebration. It was AWESOME ! ( All but the getting My Racers Stolen from the Airport ) I'm generally the one who will go for the joke over anythig else and WANT to make people laugh. I'm a ESB TK and have on occasion after doing my normal scheduled Troop , have placed a Toilet Plunger in my E-11 Holster and walked a few Cons simple to get the funny reactions ! My Daughter and I give out buttons about anywhere we go now when we see people ( mostly to kids ) in Star Wars Shirts. We make them at home so it's much less costly. My Facebook page is here I think but you can always find me by looking up photomandan I have a camera pointing out usually. It was GREAT doing a Trooper Talk with members of Your Garrison.

  23. Hi folks. Hope this is allowed. I recently bought an xenopixel lightsaber and that got me in the mood to start a generic Jedi costume. I am looking for advice on best place to get this. I have zero sewing skills so would need to purchase the clothes. Hopefully not too expensive. If anyone has any tips or advise that would be great.

  24. Hello All! After years telling myself “I really need to join up”, I was delighted to meet the all the guys at Dublin Comic Con last weekend & it really gave me the nudge to just dive in! I adore the work you do and admire the fantastic community you’re part of. I’m setting up my profile at the moment & would really appreciate if somebody can point me in the direction of how/where to get my costume. I’m on the fence about a Scout Trooper & Storm Trooper, but have to admit I was really impressed with the detail of Storm Trooper at the Con on Saturday. Any help in terms of contacts, online sellers etc. would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! Keith

  26. Hi Ireland Garrison! My wife and I are both 501st and RL members in Tampa Bay Squad in the Florida Garrison, and we'll be visiting Ireland later this month along with our daughter (also Galactic Academy!). We'll be in Dublin 29-31 May and then Galway 31 May - 3 June, before we head on to London for 5 days. We'd love to meet up with some local members while there, maybe have a pint and trade some swag? Thanks!

  27. We're back home after a great trip to Ireland and London. Daniel, it was a great pleasure to meet you and your wife, do a little trading, and get a quick glimpse of Athlone! One of the best things about belonging to the Legion is that you suddenly have friends all over the world. I'm sorry that I didn't get to meet more of you, but don't hesitate to reach out to me if you plan to visit Florida! Cheers everyone!

  28. Looks like September it is, then. Still working on things, but it looks like it will be the 10 days beginning either on the 11th or the 18th. Don't have an itinerary yet -- so much planning to do! -- but our trip will begin and end in Dublin. Thanks, everyone! A.J.

  31. Hello All, So I have been a Star Wars fan for as long as I can remember and I have always been interested in the 501st Legion. But either never had the courage or idea on how to even start process to join. I went to the May the 4th Film festival over the weekend down in Portmagee and after speaking with a number of the members their, I bit the bullet and got the ball rolling on my first costume after the first conversion I had, though I have been told its a brave first choice lol. Hoping to come out of my shell a tad bit more and help out in events etc, where and whenever possible

  33. Hi Daniel, Will do, and I have thrown my name in the hat to help out with the Street Collection for the Relay for life on the 10th June. So I'm looking forward to that. I will no doubt have plenty of questions once the kit arrives, so for sure I will be popping into the 48-clone-trooper-detachment page to ask for help and show my progress Susie says hello back

  34. Hi Alan, Daniel here (sitting the other side of Shane on Saturday). Delighted that you both enjoyed yourselves and that you dropped in here to say hello. If you keep an eye on our "Upcoming Events" section here, you're welcome to comment underneath any of them to say you'd like to come along and help with crewing. That can be anything from helping our troopers kit up, taking photos, to making sure our stormtroopers don't fall down stairs that they can't see We have a few clones here who will be able to help answer questions, and also be sure to sign up over at the Clone Detachment if you haven't already: https://501stclonetroopers.com/forum/index.php?/login/ You'll find a lot more in depth stuff on Republic Commandos there, including recommended vendors around the world, though some of our guys might be able to point you to European vendors that will cut down on shipping and customs fees. Feel free to also create a new topic in our own clone section, where you can ask questions and post up updates: https://www.irelandlegions.com/forums/index.php?/forum/48-clone-trooper-detachment/ Welcome aboard! And hi to Susie too and her own inevitable costume

  36. A 000, wow!!!!! That would be amazing. I'm staff at the Spec Ops detachment along with @tipperaryred & @SyntaxError, so we would love you to take on this build. I only recently saw my 1st 000 in the flesh at Celebration in London & the costume blew me away. The Spec Ops forums will have a section on the 000 droid, so make sure to check that out. http://bit.ly/501specops

  39. Hello my name is Gary and I am a member of the Florida Garrison, Makaze Squad and the Ra Kura base of the Rebel Legion. I’ve been in the Legions for almost thirteen years now. My wife is the CO of Ra Kura base here in Florida for the past couple of years and I am the former XO of Makaze Suqad, for what it’s worth. We hope to make a trip to Ireland eventually and maybe meet up with some of your Garrison members during our visit to take in some of my Irish heritage.

Been a fan for a long time, so decided now its time to be a storm trooper, still an imposing sight for this man child, based in Trim, Co Meath but a Dub, born and bred Also a modelmaker/painter so always making, modifying and weathering stuff, mainly model railways, but also involved in organising of Irelands biggest model exhibitions I've @stormtroopergeorge56 to thank for being here, a chance encounter a few years ago led to an interesting conversation...

  43. Thanks!.... Yep, I'll get a build log going and will post my current progress I have some soft parts, such as boots, Jodhpurs Paint, some of the webbing to rig up the armour and create a Sling for the E22 blaster I've started some test prints as I plan on printing everything in PETG for durability and what to make the sanding / priming as minimal as possible
