  1. I hope that you get to meet some of our Garrison during your stay Mark. Unfortunately I'll be under general anaesthetic having four wisdom teeth pulled the day you're in Cork, and probably won't be fit for a trip up to Dublin the next day! Hope to get another chance to meet you both in the future though.
  2. Many congratulations Katie! It is a superb costume and you are very welcome to the Garrison. We shall all see you soon!
  3. That would be brilliant Jessica! Delighted you got to meet Jamie, and I understand you left a gift for one of our members who will definitely appreciate it
  4. Welcome Antonio, it would be great to have you with us at some point in your time on this side of the Atlantic!
  5. Hi Jessica! I am sorry to say that I will not be able to travel to Dublin myself due to family commitments, but one or two of our other members should be making contact with you soon I am sorry that I shall miss you this time!
  6. You're very welcome here Phoebe!
  7. Welcome Erika! I won't be able to make it this weekend, but look forward to meeting you at a future event!
  8. Great to hear that you're returning for another visit Jessica! I'll try and move some things around to see if I can be in Dublin that evening. I'll also stick a note up in the group chat for those who might not see the forum post.
  9. Thank you for the kind invite! I do not think I will be able to personally make this one, but I hope you can repeat this event in the future. I would love to attend some day!
  10. Hi Phil, always good to meet other Legion members! We usually have restricted numbers given to us by DCC, but we should be able to clarify in more detail closer to the time. If you apply for international membership status here on the forums, you'll then be able to see our upcoming troops, along with any relevant information about them. I don't know if I'll make it to DCC this year myself, but I hope to troop with you someday soon!
  11. Welcome! We shall have many troops throughout the country that you're more than welcome to attend, including at least 1 or 2 in Galway each year.
  12. Hi Hilmar, unfortunately I had to travel North and won't be able to make it to Dublin while you are here. I shall put a reminder in our group chat that you are here and hopefully some of our members near Dublin can meet you. Enjoy your visit!
  13. Excellent. I am hoping to be able to make a trip to Dublin on the 1st. If this is possible, I'll get in touch to see if it suits to meet up.
  14. It was a pleasure chatting to you Lucy! Don't worry, we won't tell Andrea about all the gossip you told us about him
  15. It was a pleasure chatting some with you Dan. Looking forward to hopefully meeting up in person some day!
  16. Excellent to hear Hilmir! I am not one of our Dublin based troopers, but I'll see if it is possible to time a day trip to match your dates.
  17. Hi AJ, it's worth noting that on your final full day we do have a series of troops at Smyth's toy stores across the country: You can use the link above to see which stores have member signed up to attend. Might be a great way to meet some of our troops if you're near to one!
  18. Some tinted acetate sheets for an overhead projector are a good cheap alternative. I just glued some to a simple frame I cut out of plasticard, and velcro'd that inside my helmet.
  19. Welcome Bastian, and I hope we shall be able to greet you. It might be useful to put up the dates you are in each town and city to see if our members are free? I myself am quite near Tullamore so will hopefully be free one day that you are there.
  20. Welcome Shane, great to see even more new troopers coming on board!
  21. Welcome Mark! We've a few folks with Tusken builds under their belt, plus a good friend of the Garrison working on a ton of Tuskens down in Kerry. Some of our guys should be able to point you in the direction of vendors for a lot of the parts.
  22. Aye, as Richard said you definitely won't be in Portumna before 11am. It might be worth seeing if you can find out from the tour company exactly what they have planned for you in Portumna. It could very well just be off the bus, organised tour of the castle, back on the bus. You might get a spare hour or so to explore on your own terms, but as you're doing Galway city the same day (another hour's drive away) I wouldn't be surprised if they bundled you all right back on the bus after the castle tour. Either way, I am only 10 minutes away, so I'd be happy to call down even if we did only get a few minutes to say hello and have a chat. Let me know if you find out any more!
  23. Welcome Keith, delighted to have you signing up! We have plenty of Stormtroopers and Scouts who can point you in the right direction, so I'm sure some will be along soon. A good starting point would be to search for RWA Creations on Facebook - Ross is based on the Isle of Wight and does both TKs (Stormtroopers) and Scouts. He usually has price lists posted in his group to give you an idea of budget. There's at least one more in the UK, plus a guy in France, but I'm sure others can point you in their direction. Whichever way you go, also be sure to Google the First Imperial Stormtrooper Detachment (TKs) and the Pathfinders Detachment (Scouts) and join their forums. These are the international detachments that group information on similar costumes together. While our guys can point you in the right direction for local-ish suppliers, you'll also find detailed info for each costume there.
  24. Well the good news is that your first stop in Portumna Castle is literally only 10 minutes down the road from me, so if I'm free I can definitely meet you there! What date is your "Day 1"?
  25. Thanks Bryce! So just to confirm, you're now in Athy in Co Kildare until you travel back to Dublin to catch your flight on Wednesday? I'll put a notice up in our group chat if so, and we can see if anyone is free and in that area.
