Just a quick follow up to follow the instructions below and post in this thread to request access VIA our admin.

Hello and welcome Crystina. Always great to welcome new members to our community! Definitely, yourself and Amara should join! (Ideally both RL and 501st!) If either of you would like to join us at an upcoming event, we are always happy to have new people join us as crew which can be requested through the link below. This will allow you to see the events calendar. Crewing is a great way to meet members prior to going through the membership process with either 501st or RL and is an essential role especially where we have TKs or other kits with lower visibility or restricted movement. It can also be beneficial if you wished to target smaller events to meet a few members at a time. We're all friendly, helpful and definitely a little bit crazy!

I'm a novice here. What's the next step now?
SyntaxError replied to Salatiel Souza's topic in Introductions
Hello and welcome Sal! It's always great to have people follow up with us after cons and events. I thought it appropriate to move this thread to Introductions. There are lots of friendly, helpful and slightly crazy members here who can give tips and guidance of how best to move forward. @BandageMonkey has definitely given a couple of good suggestions in terms of crewing and deciding on what type of costume you'd be interested in. In my opinion, there are three main items to consider, each having a different level of importance to each individual; 1) What characters do you like from the Star Wars universe - no point being a TK if you think TK are "meh". The Costume Reference Library (CRL) is a great resource to see whats out there in terms of approvable kits. My only word of warning here is not to read too much into the detail and requirements from the start. Get a feel of what direction you'd like to go in and ask around. Put together a short list of characters you're interested in and even take a look at the detachment forums, which are also listed in the website below. https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:CRLbydetachment Each 501st kit is categorised by detachments; TK are part of the First Imperial Stormtrooper Detachment, Scout Troops are part of Pathfinders, etc. There are 100s of different kits which are clearable with the 501st, so have a look around, get a short list together and ask questions. 2) Expense: (DIY versus Commissions) - this point is something only to consider once your close to deciding "this is the kit for me". If you're into DIY, you can reduce the expense by building or 3d printing components yourself, or if you go down the pre-built route, there are different considerations on cost as well as time until the kit is ready. My TK for example took approx 4 months from ordering to completion. In terms of scale considering a Darth Vader Versus a TK for example, there is a massive cost difference (1000s). 3) Comfort: What is comfortable to wear - if you are claustrophobic or dislike having restricted movement, a TK may not be the character for you, but an imperial admiral is a great choice and isn't restrictive given that its a "face character". Hopefully this makes some sense - before choosing my first kit, I hovered around these forums for at least 6 months, but I'm rather indecisive! -
Greetings Jacob and welcome to the forum. Its always amazing to have visitors from our international members. Definitely would be ok with us. We've had international members troop with us previously. We'll organise your access so you can see our events calendar and can go from there. Hopefully one of the dates may suit!

Hello and welcome Luciano! Always amazing to have international visitors and even better when they become a permanent feature here. Moving can be such a daunting life event, so if you need anything at all to help acclimate to Ireland and specially Dublin, please do not hesitate to contact us. We’d be more than happy to help, especially if you need any recommendations in terms of anything (restaurants, doctors, schools, etc. ) Id be delighted to work with you and your current CO on the transition, we can probably look to start this in the new year. In the interim, we’ll update your forum status to international member. This will give you have some additional sub-forums to view and be able to see some of the troops we have coming up to get a look and feel as to the running order. Definitely keep in touch and look forward to trooping with you soon.

Greetings Matthias! Thank you for reaching out to us! The parade looks great and is amazing to see a good turn out from our colleagues in Germany. We do have a couple of annual troops on St. Patrick’s day however we can include the below and see about participating also. If possible to reach out to our events at events@501st.ie we’ll work out details for hopefully attending either Castlemaine and Killarney. -

Happy to help, Boba is iconic and with that, there is high standard attached to it. It is achievable with patience and perseverance. There are a ton of resources and guides out there to help. Here are some quick links for you all in one place to make things easy; ____ The 501st have a Costume Reference Library (CRL), which is maintained by the detachments. https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:CRLbydetachment Each detachment maintains their own CRLs and ensures they are screen accurate. It is the GML in each garrison that will review submission pictures to the CRL for approval. Boba is maintained by Bounty Hunters Guild (BHG): https://databank.501st.com/databank/BHG_CRL The CRL for the kit you mentioned is here: https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:BH_Boba_MandoS2_Repaint Each detachment also has their own forum where you can get some very specific advise, tutorials and general information about your chosen kits. https://thebhg.net/ ____ Once you have your kit and you feel they align to the CRL (has to be one specific CRL - can’t mix and match), please send your submission pictures to: GML@501st.ie Some additional resources on joining and registering at the main legion level: How to join: https://www.501st.com/join.php - and some additional detail on the process: https://databank.501st.com/databank/Join_Us If you have any questions or wish to establish a build thread here on the forum, please do and the Garrison can weigh in with our thoughts and feedback. Similar can be done on the detachment forums for even more expert advise. (FYI I see you have your forum permissions updated and can now register for events)

Hello Cian! Welcome to this hive of scum and villainy. Two excellent kits, both fan favourites. Is that one of your kits in the profile picture? If you need any help or guidance on the kits, feel free to drop us a message. There are some fantastic forums and reference pictures available.
