  4. Hi Everyone, Shane here. Brand new to this. I was at DCC last weekend with 2 other new members Mark Parsons and Keith Connolly and decided to sign up. Been chatting to TrooperShane on insta who's been very helpful. I have a Shepperton Design Studios Stormtrooper armour that I bought last year and I'm looking for any excuse to wear it. I would love to get involved and chat to other more experienced troopers for advice on helpful mods to upgrade the armour. Whether it's upgrading the aesthetics or comfort of the suit or even more technical things like the voice changer. Any useful hacks really. Any help appreciated. Thanks guys. Shane

  6. Hi all. I've just joined up. Have seen you guys around for couple of years now and after seeing the show in DublinComicCon I just had to take the dive. Was there with my good Pal Keith Connolly who has also just joined this week. After some back and forth I think I've decided on a Tusken Raider costume to start off.

  8. Hello there My name is Cian and I'm hoping to join the 501st as Boba Fett and Kylo Ren someday. I mostly do Superhero cosplays but I have always wanted to do a star wars Cosplay and join a Cosplay group. I go to as many cons in Ireland as I can. I've been tinkering away at a book of Boba fett Cosplay at the moment and I'm hoping to have it done by the end of the year. Hopefully someday I can join you guys as the Daimyo or Tatooine. May the force be with you

  9. Hi everyone! My wife (ID-61950) and I have been wanting to visit your wonderful country for years, and we're finally making plans to do so either this coming September, or next April. After years of waiting, now that it's actually going to happen we're finding it hard to wait for our trip! We don't have exact dates or itinerary yet, but we do know that no matter where we go or what we do, we'll be starting and ending our visit in Dublin. We'd love to meet up with anyone available while we're there. And I'm sure that as our trip gets closer, I'll be asking lots of questions. For now, just a quick one: Which of our target months has the best weather -- September or April? Thanks! A.J. Hamler TK-51351

  13. Thanks Daniel, will see if I can figure that out I see my photos didn’t load, doh! I have tickets already for 11am entry, going to park near hotel and walk over so just need somewhere to change, had to change in the car park into my Vader in Belfast Con, that was an experience. if you do make it, look out for us, either way, I’ll be with a Jedi. There’s a bunch of my Mando buddies coming down.

  14. Hello there! I'm a member of the french garrison, currently working in Galway for 6 months to a year maybe. I was wondering if I could come with you on troopings since I have to validate one to be considered "active" and more importantly because I love it! I have a TIE pilot outfit but didnt bring all of it so rn I have a reserve pilot costume. I brought ONE keychain of the french garrison with me (I'm kind of a new member sorry) if anyone wants to trade, or if there's some patches I can buy too... I hope we can get in touch!

  15. Hey y'all , My name is Dan , ( Daniel if I'm in trouble with My Mother ) and I'm in Texas. I know I seen a few of y'all at Celebration 2022 in Anaheim California but honestly my memory is so bad it's not even funny. It was a Daughter / Father trip and was our FIRST Celebration. It was AWESOME ! ( All but the getting My Racers Stolen from the Airport ) I'm generally the one who will go for the joke over anythig else and WANT to make people laugh. I'm a ESB TK and have on occasion after doing my normal scheduled Troop , have placed a Toilet Plunger in my E-11 Holster and walked a few Cons simple to get the funny reactions ! My Daughter and I give out buttons about anywhere we go now when we see people ( mostly to kids ) in Star Wars Shirts. We make them at home so it's much less costly. My Facebook page is here I think but you can always find me by looking up photomandan I have a camera pointing out usually. It was GREAT doing a Trooper Talk with members of Your Garrison.

  17. Hi folks. Hope this is allowed. I recently bought an xenopixel lightsaber and that got me in the mood to start a generic Jedi costume. I am looking for advice on best place to get this. I have zero sewing skills so would need to purchase the clothes. Hopefully not too expensive. If anyone has any tips or advise that would be great.

  18. Hello All! After years telling myself “I really need to join up”, I was delighted to meet the all the guys at Dublin Comic Con last weekend & it really gave me the nudge to just dive in! I adore the work you do and admire the fantastic community you’re part of. I’m setting up my profile at the moment & would really appreciate if somebody can point me in the direction of how/where to get my costume. I’m on the fence about a Scout Trooper & Storm Trooper, but have to admit I was really impressed with the detail of Storm Trooper at the Con on Saturday. Any help in terms of contacts, online sellers etc. would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! Keith

  20. Welcome Keith, delighted to have you signing up! We have plenty of Stormtroopers and Scouts who can point you in the right direction, so I'm sure some will be along soon. A good starting point would be to search for RWA Creations on Facebook - Ross is based on the Isle of Wight and does both TKs (Stormtroopers) and Scouts. He usually has price lists posted in his group to give you an idea of budget. There's at least one more in the UK, plus a guy in France, but I'm sure others can point you in their direction. Whichever way you go, also be sure to Google the First Imperial Stormtrooper Detachment (TKs) and the Pathfinders Detachment (Scouts) and join their forums. These are the international detachments that group information on similar costumes together. While our guys can point you in the right direction for local-ish suppliers, you'll also find detailed info for each costume there.

  22. Hi Ireland Garrison! My wife and I are both 501st and RL members in Tampa Bay Squad in the Florida Garrison, and we'll be visiting Ireland later this month along with our daughter (also Galactic Academy!). We'll be in Dublin 29-31 May and then Galway 31 May - 3 June, before we head on to London for 5 days. We'd love to meet up with some local members while there, maybe have a pint and trade some swag? Thanks!

  23. We're back home after a great trip to Ireland and London. Daniel, it was a great pleasure to meet you and your wife, do a little trading, and get a quick glimpse of Athlone! One of the best things about belonging to the Legion is that you suddenly have friends all over the world. I'm sorry that I didn't get to meet more of you, but don't hesitate to reach out to me if you plan to visit Florida! Cheers everyone!

  24. Looks like September it is, then. Still working on things, but it looks like it will be the 10 days beginning either on the 11th or the 18th. Don't have an itinerary yet -- so much planning to do! -- but our trip will begin and end in Dublin. Thanks, everyone! A.J.

  27. Hello All, So I have been a Star Wars fan for as long as I can remember and I have always been interested in the 501st Legion. But either never had the courage or idea on how to even start process to join. I went to the May the 4th Film festival over the weekend down in Portmagee and after speaking with a number of the members their, I bit the bullet and got the ball rolling on my first costume after the first conversion I had, though I have been told its a brave first choice lol. Hoping to come out of my shell a tad bit more and help out in events etc, where and whenever possible

  29. Hi Daniel, Will do, and I have thrown my name in the hat to help out with the Street Collection for the Relay for life on the 10th June. So I'm looking forward to that. I will no doubt have plenty of questions once the kit arrives, so for sure I will be popping into the 48-clone-trooper-detachment page to ask for help and show my progress Susie says hello back

  30. Hi Alan, Daniel here (sitting the other side of Shane on Saturday). Delighted that you both enjoyed yourselves and that you dropped in here to say hello. If you keep an eye on our "Upcoming Events" section here, you're welcome to comment underneath any of them to say you'd like to come along and help with crewing. That can be anything from helping our troopers kit up, taking photos, to making sure our stormtroopers don't fall down stairs that they can't see We have a few clones here who will be able to help answer questions, and also be sure to sign up over at the Clone Detachment if you haven't already: https://501stclonetroopers.com/forum/index.php?/login/ You'll find a lot more in depth stuff on Republic Commandos there, including recommended vendors around the world, though some of our guys might be able to point you to European vendors that will cut down on shipping and customs fees. Feel free to also create a new topic in our own clone section, where you can ask questions and post up updates: https://www.irelandlegions.com/forums/index.php?/forum/48-clone-trooper-detachment/ Welcome aboard! And hi to Susie too and her own inevitable costume

  38. Daniel -- Cool! As it happens, our last night will be at the Travelodge hotel in Swords, as we wanted to stay near the airport. I just checked on the store location on Google maps, and it may even be within walking distance from our hotel. A.J.

  44. Hi Keith, Funny on how you dived right in, as its pretty much how I started here also. Met lads down at the May the 4th film festival a few months back. After one conversaion had my outfit ordered and I am now hooked. As Shane and Daniel said everyone here is extremely helpful, and approcable if your ever stuck on something. Personally I found digging around on the builds in the form and chatting with the people, has given me great insight on little tips and tricks. Welcome aboard

  45. Hi & welcome Keith, Here's some links for your research RWA creations on FB [based in Jersey, UK] - https://www.facebook.com/groups/1865574590327448 The Shed of Glittering Delights on FB [based in France - no customs costs] - https://www.facebook.com/groups/498936430131793 I've bought kits from both. You can buy the kit or for more credits, you can ask to have the kits finished & helments completed. It all depends on how good you are working with ABS plastic & assembling kits. You can also buy TKs from Shepperton & TK & scouts from RS propmasters in the UK. Scouts can also be bought from Chefs creations, also based in the UK. I got my TK from Shepperton, my shadow TK from RWA. I got my shadow scout from Chelfs creatioins & my old tie pilot from Andy in the Shed of glittering delights.

  46. Hey, it's all set -- we have our itinerary, plane tickets and everything! September is still a few months away, so when it gets closer I'll post something up so we can hopefully meet up with some of you. But for now, the brief rundown is this: We'll arrive in Dublin on the morning of Wednesday the 13th and be there for two nights, then in Killarney on the 15th and 16th, and then Galway the 17th and 18th. We'll return to Dublin on the 19th where we'll rent a car and head to Carlingford, and then down to Trim on the 20th. And finally back to Dublin on the 21st, and flying home on the 22nd. We are really looking forward to this, and hope to meet some of you! A.J.

  47. Hi all no, sadly the sandy is still busted, but it would only take the minimum of skill/effort/money to resolve. The belt needs replacing and a few cracks need patching. Luckily it’s a sandy so doesn’t need any dusting or cleaning

  48. The best chance for nicer weather would be September. Sadly, there's still no guarantee.
