Mad Madame Maddie Posted March 18 Posted March 18 (edited) Hey all, Madison here. I'm an active member of the 501st, RL, and TDE in (sadly) the US. I'm actually working towards fleeing this dystopian nightmare and seeking asylum on the Emerald Isle, if you'll have me. I've spoken with the consulate, who suggested securing a class b or c visa and then making my declaration once I arrive. It's going to take a bit of time to secure my funds to do so, but if anyone knows of any chem labs looking for technicians, I'd love to hear about it! My goal is to be over there by or before the end of June next year; the sooner the better. My current costumes are TK, Darth Nihilus, custom jedi, custom sith, and if you see my profile pic I'm also Pinkie Pie Stormtrooper. I can't wait to meet you all in person! Also: Lá Fhéile Pádraig sona duit! Hopefully google translate got that right. Edited March 18 by Mad Madame Maddie 4 Quote
Dropkick Posted March 18 Posted March 18 Hi Madison, Ireland is the land of a thousand welcomes & that also goes for the Ireland Garrison & Ireland Base here. We are sorry to hear daily news of what is happening & we would of course welcome you to both the garrison & base when you arrange transfers from your current garrison & base to here. BandageMonkey Posted March 18 Posted March 18 Hello @Mad Madame Maddie Much like what @Dropkick stated, you and others are always welcome here in Ireland and the Garrison. It is always a huge step leaving ones home. However I wish you all the best in your plans and hopefully see you here at some point in the year. BM Quote

tipperaryred Posted March 19 Posted March 19 Hi Madison, It has been extremely difficult in recent months seeing the struggles of some of our US based friends, and I wish you the best of luck with your relocation plans. Reading the news has been a surreal and shocking exercise even over here lately, so I can only imagine how bad it is in the US itself. Should you make your way over here, you shall of course be more than welcome within our clubs. Quote Daniel TX/TI-86327 Tipperary
SyntaxError Posted March 19 Posted March 19 Hello @Mad Madame Maddie and welcome! We have a number of members within our garrison from different nationalities and look forward to welcoming more. Definitely keep us updated on how things progress and as others above have said, we look forward to meeting you It is very disheartening to see some of the news on a daily basis, but do know that there are also a lot of good people there and hope this… turbulence… does not become part of the daily norm into the future. We look forward to welcoming you in person. Quote Everything a price has, however, isn’t always money, the price is.
Mad Madame Maddie Posted March 24 Author Posted March 24 Thank you all for the wonderful welcome!!!! Its going to take a moment to get the funds together to make the trip, and with the job site being a bit wacky, I may just come without the visa (90 day stay,) then find a server job and head over to Immigration to upgrade to a work visa while I try to find a lab looking for help. ANYTHING to speed up the process. Every time I visit the chemists, I use the blood pressure machine and I've apparently been in "fight or flight" mode since January, as my normal (very average) bp of 110/75 has been 149/75. Its a wee bit terrifying to wake up every morning and check the news to see if today is the day I get shipped to an internment camp. Seriously, this place is a feck'n madhouse. 1 Quote
