  1. Hello Mark and thanks for reaching out! Hope you have an amazing time in Ireland. We have some members down around Cork, however, the majority would be based in Dublin. I will flag your visit in our group chat and hopefully some of the members may be available one of those evenings. Safe travels and enjoy!
  2. Welcome and congratulations again! An amazing costume and look forward to trooping again soon! Richard
  3. Hello and welcome to the madhouse!
  4. Happy to help, Boba is iconic and with that, there is high standard attached to it. It is achievable with patience and perseverance. There are a ton of resources and guides out there to help. Here are some quick links for you all in one place to make things easy; ____ The 501st have a Costume Reference Library (CRL), which is maintained by the detachments. https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:CRLbydetachment Each detachment maintains their own CRLs and ensures they are screen accurate. It is the GML in each garrison that will review submission pictures to the CRL for approval. Boba is maintained by Bounty Hunters Guild (BHG): https://databank.501st.com/databank/BHG_CRL The CRL for the kit you mentioned is here: https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:BH_Boba_MandoS2_Repaint Each detachment also has their own forum where you can get some very specific advise, tutorials and general information about your chosen kits. https://thebhg.net/ ____ Once you have your kit and you feel they align to the CRL (has to be one specific CRL - can’t mix and match), please send your submission pictures to: GML@501st.ie Some additional resources on joining and registering at the main legion level: How to join: https://www.501st.com/join.php - and some additional detail on the process: https://databank.501st.com/databank/Join_Us If you have any questions or wish to establish a build thread here on the forum, please do and the Garrison can weigh in with our thoughts and feedback. Similar can be done on the detachment forums for even more expert advise. (FYI I see you have your forum permissions updated and can now register for events)
  5. Hello Cian! Welcome to this hive of scum and villainy. Two excellent kits, both fan favourites. Is that one of your kits in the profile picture? If you need any help or guidance on the kits, feel free to drop us a message. There are some fantastic forums and reference pictures available.
  6. Allez les Bleus! Very good - hopefully we might see you on Saturday or Sunday in Dublin
  7. Hello @julovitch and welcome to our Forum and Ireland! Yes indeed it is possible to request access, which can be done here: Also, if you wish to transfer under the Irish Garrison for your time in Ireland, we can also look at that with your home Garrison and the Captain of the Guard at legion level, if you wish. Also, it may be beneficial to update your legion details on your forum profile. This can be found here, at the top right (if using desktop browser), the drop down will bring you to your profile: Where you can select edit profile: and update your legion details: Either way, you'd be more than welcome!
  8. Hello Jim! Will you be touring other parts of the country or just Dublin? Either way - hopefully you have a great time and get to meet some of the garrison!
  9. Hello Hilmir (and Benedikt)! Thanks so much for reaching out to us. It would be great to try and meet when you are here. I am not based in Dublin, but the majority of our members are. Hopefully calendars will align for a meet up and “a pint” or two
  10. Only one word - yes. can always do with more shadow scouts
  11. It is a shame you are not here until the 10th Sept as we have a con in Dublin where a number of us will be in attendance.
  12. No worries - I’ve sent you a PM
  13. Welcome Shane! Another TK would be great! I’m not biased at all though
  14. Hello Mark! can never have too many Tuscan Raiders! Welcome to the group - look forward to seeing your build. if you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask!
  15. Hello Arejias! I’ve dropped a message to our messenger chat to check if anyone is around on those days. We’re definitely on the smaller side of things garrison size wise. Hopefully one of those days work for people - either way - hope you have an amazing time in Ireland!
  16. Welcome Keith!!! Little late posting but if you have any questions definitely drop a message here, more than happy to help! I’ll drop you a PM in terms of kits!
  17. It’s about a 2 - 2.5 hour drive! what is the plan for Kilkenny? May be able to meet for lunch one of those days
  18. That’s a pain. Definitely keep us updated as to your movements and when you know, where you’ll be on what days! Hope it works out.
  19. Hello and welcome! We’re a friendly bunch so definitely do not hesitate to ask us any questions at all! Great kit choices!
  20. Hello and welcome! Delighted to hear we left an impression! It sounds like everyone had a great time during the film festival. Hope to be there next year myself. If you have any questions, definitely post them here - we tend to be a helpful bunch! Looking forward to seeing how things go and meeting you at future troops!
  21. Hello and welcome! My name is Richard and I am one of the Garrison Membership Liaison. Can never have enough TKs! Very iconic and for street troops, or for those who are not avid fans of Star Wars, one of the most recognisable kits from sci-fi in general. Similarly, inquisitors are amazing and would be a great addition. I don’t think we currently have one in the garrison. Some additional information for you: The detachment websites are a great source for additional tips tricks and vendor details as well as the costume reference libraries (CRL) Starship Eclipse: https://www.theflagshipeclipse.com https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:FlagshipEclipse_CRL FISD: https://www.whitearmor.net https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:FISD_CRL Additionally, the main legion website can be an excellent source as well. while broader in scope, does also offer a significant amount of information: https://www.501st.com/forum/ Please keep us up to date on your journey. I initially started out with the thoughts of a Vader but was swayed to a Stormtrooper, which was quickly followed by a Shadow Scout.
  22. Hello and welcome! My name is Richard and I am one of the Garrison Membership Liaison. You have definitely picked an iconic character indeed, a challenge, but an amazing one. Sorry to hear that you had a bad experience and hope it doesn't deter you in the long run. Some additional information for you: Each kit or costume is part of a detachment, which manages its own "Costume Reference Library" or CRL. Boba Fett would be part of the Bounty Hunters Guild (BHG) referenced above. Their CRLs can be found here and cover a wide range of bounty hunters whom appear in various Star Wars media: https://databank.501st.com/databank/BHG_CRL The main CRL page can be found here with the full list of detachments and under these, their kits: https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:CRLbydetachment (FISD for Stormtroopers, Sith Lord Detachment for Vader etc.) The CRL or movie quality standard is the "goal" for joining the 501st, however, is not necessarily the goal for everyone who just want's to kit up and feel like the boss. Additionally, the detachments have their own website which would be an excellent resource for those more particular questions around vendors, assembly, etc. right the way down to the correct colour code for that perfect screen accurate finish. https://thebhg.net/ Additionally, the main legion website can be an excellent source as well. while broader in scope, does also offer a significant amount of information: https://www.501st.com/forum/ Finally, Bobamaker is definitely the premium when it comes to Boba Fett armor and is widely regarded as among (if not the) best, however, if you visit the BHG website or main 501st forums you can find additional vendors listed there. Please keep us up to date on your journey. I initially started out with the hopes of a Vader but was swayed to a Stormtrooper, which was quickly followed by a Shadow Scout.
  23. Exciting times! Hope you have a good one Checking if you're still planning to stop in Kilkenny during your trip? I'll probably be there for work on the 24th and could swing by!
  24. Hello Michael and welcome! Im Richard and one of the Garrison Member Liaison. I’m based in Waterford myself and have a Shadow Scout and ANH Stormtrooper. RSprops is definitely a good one - I’ll drop you a message shortly. Keep an eye on the events calendar also. Great way to meet and greet in person!
