Focus
Hi Everyone, Shane here. Brand new to this. I was at DCC last weekend with 2 other new members Mark Parsons and Keith Connolly and decided to sign up. Been chatting to TrooperShane on insta who's been very helpful. I have a Shepperton Design Studios Stormtrooper armour that I bought last year and I'm looking for any excuse to wear it. I would love to get involved and chat to other more experienced troopers for advice on helpful mods to upgrade the armour. Whether it's upgrading the aesthetics or comfort of the suit or even more technical things like the voice changer. Any useful hacks really. Any help appreciated. Thanks guys. Dropkick
Welcome @Focus - great to see you made it onto our forums. Hopefully you will be able to make it to the con in Dun Laoighre in September for a chat with our troopers. 1 Quote TK/TX/DZ/SL/DS 18170 - Shane Murphy [Dropkick] 501st profile

Straight Razor
Hello and welcome Shane. Sounds like you have a head start on the costume front for sure. Good few TK experts on here so you've come to the right place. 1 Quote Ken

Focus
@Straight Razor For sure. Very happy with the Shepperton but I'm looking for upgrade tips. Anything to make it more comfortable (even slightly). I know a lot of people swap the gloves out as the stock ones are like marigolds. Wondering if the helmets can be modded to sit more securely too...and I cant see a thing... LUKE WAS RIGHT!!!
welshchris77
Hello and welcome Shane, I will look forward to meeting yourself and the others at Dun Laoghaire, there you can check out our gear and see how some of us have modified our costumes for upgrades and for comfort, when I first started out I used to make a snag list of what needed adjusting after each troop (event) until I got it to a point where I was comfortable wearing it.

Are the lenses bubble lenses? 1 Quote Ken
Dropkick
Bubble lenses are never a good idea I ripped mine out after my 1st troop in my tie pilot & replaced them with flat lenses Quote TK/TX/DZ/SL/DS 18170 - Shane Murphy [Dropkick] 501st profile
Focus
@Straight Razor Thanks for your reply. Much appreciated. Great tip on the hard hat liner. yes the lenses are bubble lenses. They look the business but can’t see shit. What are the alternatives? Thanks
Focus
@Dropkick Thanks for your reply. Would you happen to have a link to where I could get flat lenses to replace the bubble lenses?
Straight Razor
Try get some gel filters from a art shop. Or get a tinted visor for a motorcycle helmet and cut 2 shapes out of it. 1 Quote Ken
tipperaryred
Some tinted acetate sheets for an overhead projector are a good cheap alternative. I just glued some to a simple frame I cut out of plasticard, and velcro'd that inside my helmet. 1 1 Quote Daniel TX/TI-86327 Tipperary
