  1. Hello and welcome Fernando
  2. Hello and welcome Billy, you have come to the right place. We have another member in Waterford and myself and a few other in Wexford so not too far away. Any questions feel free to ask, we are here to help
  3. Hi Alan, good to hear from you, hope you and the family are all keeping well
  4. Hi Conrad and welcome, once cleared you will be more than welcome to troop with us. You could also crew on troops too while waiting on your clearance if you wanted too when you are over, we are always on the look out for helpers during a troop, it is a important job and vital part of trooping
  5. Welcome Alice
  6. Welcome back Leandro
  7. These are our 'go to' storage boxes:- https://www.argos.ie/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Search?storeId=10152&catalogId=15051&langId=111&searchTerms=145+LITRE&authToken=425442235%2CPWBEO%2FIArT4%2FQlWuE3ktnnIHMCI%3D Just have to drill a hole beneath one of the handles, thread a length of rope though, tie a knot inside and thread a piece of pipe to the other end for a handle or similar (Qualpex works well)
  8. So good to see you back Alan. Sorry to hear about your illness and hope it is not causing you too much pain, how is your mobility?, If there is anything any of us can do to help you get back to trooping please let us know. Also I should mention we have a members Facebook chat if you use fb would like to be added, it is useful for updates (in addition to this forum) and a bit of banter, if not though I totally understand, fb and group chats are not everyone's cup of tea. Here is a link to my facebook page if you would like to link up:- https://www.facebook.com/welshchrisinireland/ Sounds like you have been busy with your figure collection, you must show us some pics, would love to see them, also if you start doing customs would be great to see them too.
  9. Ah yes I see your application in the GML's email now Todd, Andi or John will go through your application and get back to you as soon as they can, best of luck with clearance Many of us use a voice amplifier by a crowd called T-ramp, they are very good, you can find them on Facebook, the guys name is Paul, he is a very nice person to deal with. Helmet fans are also essential for when you get very not in your armour on troops, they will prevent your lenses from fogging up. One or two 5v blower fans will do it run off a powerbank. I will see if I can find you on fb if you use it and can send you some useful links.
  10. Hi Tod and welcome to the forum, an excellent choice of costume. We look forward to receiving your clearance pics, any questions don't hesitate to ask
  11. Hello and welcome, Keep an eye on our troop calender, if a troop becomes available you are more than welcome to sign up if a place is available, if not some of us could meet up with you anyway to say hello if we are available, let us know what part of Ireland you will be visiting
  12. Both flat or bubble lenses are fine for clearance https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TI_TIE_Pilot_ANH#Version One
  13. Hi and welcome to the forums Mark
  14. Welcome to the forums, Stormtrooper is an excellent choice of costume, your model-making skills will come in very useful if you decide to build one. As Shane has said we can offer great advice if you need it and point you in the right direction in terms of kits and where to get them
  15. Hello Karl and welcome to the forums, Nice choice of costume, clones are great, Here is a link to the various detachments of the 501st, there you will find the one pertaining to clones, hope it helps https://www.501st.com/resources.php
  16. Hello Barry and welcome to the forums. Shoretrooper is an excellent choice. Keep us updated on your build or even start a build thread, we love build threads and may be able to offer you some help or pointers as you progress. Good luck with your build and may the force be with you, oops I mean 'long live the Empire'
  17. Hi Lisa and welcome to the forums, great choice of costume, will look forward to seeing you get your clearance very soon
  18. Hi Richard and welcome to the forum. ESB Boba Fett is a very cool choice of costume!, the best place to begin your quest would be to check out the detachments, they are forums that are our main source of information when building costumes, each detachment pertains to specific costumes, i.e. First Imperial Stormtrooper Detachnent (FISD) is for strormtroopers, Pathfinders for biker scouts and so on. The detachment you want is 'Bounty Hunters Guild' https://thebhg.net/ This would be your first port of call, hope that helps.
  19. Hi Rick, Great news on your Scout. If you could send your clearance pictures to gml@501st.ie the lads will look after you, include a front, right side, left side, back and helmet off shoot under good lighting. We look forward to trooping with you soon too Rick
  20. Hello Ryan and welcome to the forum. You have taken your first step into a larger world All those costumes you mentioned are fantastic choices, the first thing you need to do is settle on which one you want to do. You may or may not be aware that some costumes can cost more than others so this may influence your choice, you have definitely come to the right place though as you will get lots of advice and tips from our staff and members. As per 501st rules we cannot recommend one vendor over another on public areas of our forum but when you choose which costume you want, we can pm you information on what vendor's some of us have used. Also there are forums within the 501st that deal with specific costumes that are called 'detachments', strormtroopers have 'First imperial Stormtrooper Detachnent' (FISD) bounty hunters have 'The Bounty Hunters Guild and so on, there you will find more detailed information on those costumes aswel as build threads and such. The main thing to keep on mind is not to rush into buying anything, many vendors claim to '501st approvable' but this is often not the case, always best to ask first to avoid any costly mistakes. Feel free to send me a pm Hope this helps
  21. Hello and welcome Robert
  22. Try signing out then back in Kev, let me know if that works?
  23. Hello Conor and welcome to the forums. Plenty of members on hand here to point you in the right direction if your building Clone armour????????
  24. Great to see you here Jakub ????
  25. Hmm, should be working now, try logging in and out. Most kits are ABS, there is little difference in the two, I would recommend ABS, it is available in two thicknesses, 1.5mm and 2mm, both are slightly off-white (same as the screen used armour) the 1.5mm is easier to work with, some members prefer acrylic capped which is bright white, it is slightly more brittle and also more expensive but does look nice ????
