  1. Hello and welcome Shane, I will look forward to meeting yourself and the others at Dun Laoghaire, there you can check out our gear and see how some of us have modified our costumes for upgrades and for comfort, when I first started out I used to make a snag list of what needed adjusting after each troop (event) until I got it to a point where I was comfortable wearing it.

  2. Welcome Stephen, great to have you on board, as the others have already mentioned the Stormtrooper is a great choice and also a classic, I am slightly biased in this regard though, lol.

Three vendors for the armour that come to mind would be DA props, RWA creations and RS Prop Masters, Ross from RWA is based in the UK as Daniel has already mentioned, Andy from DA props is now based in France, I have build both kits and they are great.

The most screen accurate would be RS Prop Master (UK based), they are all pulled from moulds taken from a screen used set of armour (warts and all).

Hi Chris, thanks for your kindness. I am in Maynooth and I will live here for one or two years. I didn’t take my tanker armor here, so there’s no need for transferring and I just plan to get Cody approved here.

    No problem Aidan 👍

  4. Hello Aidan and welcome to the forums, if you plan to stay living here in Ireland we can see about getting your 501st ID transferred to the Ireland Garrison Roster, where in Ireland are you living?, we have many members spread out through the country so perhaps some may be near you.

ROTS Cody armour sounds like a great costume to build, I am sure some of the members will chime in if they have any information on that.

Look forward to trooping with you soon 😁👍

  5. Hello and welcome Billy, you have come to the right place.

We have another member in Waterford and myself and a few other in Wexford so not too far away.

Any questions feel free to ask, we are here to help 😎👍

  6. Hi Conrad and welcome, once cleared you will be more than welcome to troop with us😊.

You could also crew on troops too while waiting on your clearance if you wanted too when you are over, we are always on the look out for helpers during a troop, it is a important job and vital part of trooping 👍

Hi all, its been a while. I last trooped Sep 9th 2017 and found myself in hospital a week later. Im still battling illness but have gotten to a point where Im keen to be a part of the community again and would love to eventually be able to troop again.

Have managed to amass a sizable SW figure collection in the last while and about to make some models and try my hand at customisations. Still have an inoperable "collapsed spine" so I also need to source a new costume (2 and a bit inches shorter means my TK doesnt fit 🙃).

    Hopefully catch you all soon.

    Alan TK16076

So good to see you back Alan.

Sorry to hear about your illness and hope it is not causing you too much pain, how is your mobility?, If there is anything any of us can do to help you get back to trooping please let us know.

Also I should mention we have a members Facebook chat if you use fb would like to be added, it is useful for updates (in addition to this forum) and a bit of banter, if not though I totally understand, fb and group chats are not everyone's cup of tea.

Here is a link to my facebook page if you would like to link up:- https://www.facebook.com/welshchrisinireland/

Sounds like you have been busy with your figure collection, you must show us some pics, would love to see them, also if you start doing customs would be great to see them too.

Thanks Chris! I sent my pics off as per the FAQ. Do you all have voice modulators and is there any particular model/brand you would recommend? Any other mods/kit you find essential?

    Thanks,

    Todd

Ah yes I see your application in the GML's email now Todd, Andi or John will go through your application and get back to you as soon as they can, best of luck with clearance👍

Many of us use a voice amplifier by a crowd called T-ramp, they are very good, you can find them on Facebook, the guys name is Paul, he is a very nice person to deal with.

Helmet fans are also essential for when you get very not in your armour on troops, they will prevent your lenses from fogging up.

One or two 5v blower fans will do it run off a powerbank.

I will see if I can find you on fb if you use it and can send you some useful links.

  9. Hello and welcome,

Keep an eye on our troop calender, if a troop becomes available you are more than welcome to sign up if a place is available, if not some of us could meet up with you anyway to say hello if we are available, let us know what part of Ireland you will be visiting 😉
