  8. That budget should cover it nicely if going the self build route, starting a build thread here can be very useful too, it can help to save a few coins (and costly mistakes), also we can offer great tips along the way, with a few diy skills you will fly it What E11 kit were you thinking, resin kit or 3d print?, I think I have a spare Doopy doo’s kit (resin) somewhere. Here is my number if you want to reach out on WhatsApp for any advise:-0879699304 Kind regards Chris
  9. Welcome aboard Sean, a Stormtrooper is an excellent choice for a costume, you can’t go wrong there, it was my first costume and still gets the most use, the smiles on people’s faces never grow old. I would also highly recommend ‘the shed of glittering delights’ (DA props) on Facebook (now based in France), Andy is a nice person to deal with, his kits are accurate and of good quality, I guess it depends on budget, there many makers to choose from, RWA is also excellent but being UK based you have to deal customs fees and such, if money is no object then some go for RS Props, probably considered the most accurate (warts and all), to the untrained eye though (and the public) there is very little difference in appearance between all the recommended (recognised) makers though We can give you loads of help and support here if you go for a kit to build, ready made kits are also available but will often still need alterations for a comfortable fit, personally I have built many TK’s (the name we often use for Stormtroopers) so I have a bit of knowledge in this area. Be sure to also check out FISD detachment of the 501st, it is the ‘go to’ site for everything concerning Stormtroopers, lots of up to date info, build threads etc. whatever you decide we are here to help and support you on your journey

  15. Hello and welcome Shane, I will look forward to meeting yourself and the others at Dun Laoghaire, there you can check out our gear and see how some of us have modified our costumes for upgrades and for comfort, when I first started out I used to make a snag list of what needed adjusting after each troop (event) until I got it to a point where I was comfortable wearing it.

    Ian

Welcome back Ian, great to see you here
  19. Hello and welcome Lauren
  20. Welcome aboard Alan, you will get lots of help and advise here from the membership, what costume did you have in mind by the way?
  21. Welcome Stephen, great to have you on board, as the others have already mentioned the Stormtrooper is a great choice and also a classic, I am slightly biased in this regard though, lol. Three vendors for the armour that come to mind would be DA props, RWA creations and RS Prop Masters, Ross from RWA is based in the UK as Daniel has already mentioned, Andy from DA props is now based in France, I have build both kits and they are great. The most screen accurate would be RS Prop Master (UK based), they are all pulled from moulds taken from a screen used set of armour (warts and all). https://www.facebook.com/theshedofglitteringdelights https://www.facebook.com/groups/1865574590327448 https://www.facebook.com/rspropmasters
  22. No problem Aidan
  23. Hello Aidan and welcome to the forums, if you plan to stay living here in Ireland we can see about getting your 501st ID transferred to the Ireland Garrison Roster, where in Ireland are you living?, we have many members spread out through the country so perhaps some may be near you. ROTS Cody armour sounds like a great costume to build, I am sure some of the members will chime in if they have any information on that. Look forward to trooping with you soon
  24. Hello Gary, when you do decide to visit let us know when you are travelling and where you are staying, we look forward to meeting you
